I would feel prepared to teach
RI.7 “Multimedia:” Informational Text. This standard required students to be
able to understand how to use visual graphs, diagrams, videos, audio and other
media to apply to everyday lessons. This is one of the first standards, so it
is a pretty easy skill to grasp. For example, I would be able to teach students
how to “Integrate information in different media or formats” (ELA Tech
Standards Handout), as well as “analyze various accounts told in different
media” (ELA Tech Standards Handout). A standard that I would have to work on
before teaching it to other people would be SL.5 “Use Digital Media”. This standard
requires students to be able to add many different kinds of media to
presentations in order to enhance learning.
Creating the newsletter, I learned
how to insert a hyperlink and what that is supposed to look like. I also
learned how to insert pictures that are provided through Microsoft Word. I
enjoyed making this newsletter because I was able have fun making different
assignments and activities that my students would be working on. I liked making
the newsletter look nice, as well as provide lots of information for the
parents so they would be up to date on what was happening in my class.
